Sell at Auction

Our client services team are able to guide you through the selling process. Once it is determined that your item(s) are suitable for sale at auction, we will produce a stock receipt and market to our UK and international buyers ahead of the auction.

Home collection

We offer an In House Collection Service which will be charged depending upon distance, number and size of items.

Fees and charges

Seller Commission: 10% Below £100 / 0% £100 and Above. Lotting fees: £2 per Lot Per Auction.

The first stage of selling at auction is to arrange to have your items valued. Our valuation services are free and confidential, and there are several ways you can contact us to begin the process.

Walk-in valuation

We hold a weekly walk-in valuation service on Tuesday and Wednesday 10am to 5pm, at our Chorley Saleroom.

Home visit for valuation

You can book a Home Visit by one of our team to advise on both value and suitability for sale at Auction.

Online valuation

We provide a quick and easy online valuation service. Simply click the Online Valuation Form, fill out details about your item and submit.

Have your items Valued free and Sold free (No commission charged).
This service is offered to registered charities only for Items Sold in our Antiques and Collectables Sale. You Can also donate your items to one of our partner Charities they will then receive 100% of the hammer value.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sell an item at auction?

You can submit your item for a free valuation, and if accepted, we will list it in our next auction.

We hold a weekly walk-in valuation service on Tuesday and Wednesday 10am to 5pm, at our Chorley Saleroom. You will need to book an appointment, you can do this by telephone (01257 826832), email (info@taylorandsconce.co.uk) or by our online booking form, a member of our team will then value your items and explain the auction process.

We charge a small lotting fee per item, but sales above £100 are commission-free.

You can bid in person, online, or via telephone bidding. Simply register before the auction starts.

If an item doesn’t sell, we can relist it in the next auction or return it to you.

Yes, a buyer’s premium applies to all winning bids. Details are provided before bidding.
